Who do I work with?

I work with adults experiencing anxiety problems, such as panic, worry, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), health or social anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as depression, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties or work related stress.

I have a special interest in helping people to reclaim their lives after traumatic events and have extensive experience in working with people suffering from PTSD and survivors of childhood abuse.

I further work with people who would like help with adjusting to significant life events, such as becoming parents, losing a loved one, retiring or adjusting to a medical condition. I also work with people who suffer from chronic medical conditions, such as chronic pain.

My approach

My approach is based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as well as other evidence-based therapy approaches, such as Compassion-focused therapy, Schema therapy, Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

At the beginning, the client and I develop a shared understanding of their difficulties and the changes they would like in their lives. We then work on developing ways of coping that enable them to move closer to their goals and forward with their lives.

I believe that a supportive and non-judgemental approach is important for working together in therapy and making changes. At the same time, I might suggest strategies and tools that have shown to be helpful in overcoming specific problems.
